Prep Dahl have spent Term 1 looking at shapes and their different features. We made 'Shape Monsters' - spending a lot of time discussing and naming the different shapes we used. Mrs Dahl also gave us a challenge, "which shapes are good for building a city?" We knew lots about which shapes we used, and which shapes would make a good roof or window.

As part of our investigation into processed and natural materials, our class has been examining the waste of classrooms throughout the school. After determining what was being thrown away by examining classroom bins, we created posters for the class informing them about how to reduce waste.

Over the last two weekends we have had over 70 students participating in the School Basketball Tournament around Launceston. Some of our students were playing their first basketball games, some were very experienced, but all showed high levels of enthusiasm and excitement through the games. The strong encouragement and support of each other was excellent. One of the most memorable moments of the 2 weeks was a Norwood v Norwood game in the Grade 3/4 boys. A huge thankyou to all parents who supported the organisation, coaching and managing of our teams!

Anzac Day 2025 will fall during the second week of the school holidays.
Norwood Primary School will have representation at the march and the Launceston Cenotaph and will be laying a wreath on behalf of the school.
Timings for the ANZAC Day service are as follows:
March form up commences at 9:45am.
- March commences at 10:15am
- Civic Service begins at approx. 10:30am – 10:45am
- Main Service – 11:00am Launceston Cenotaph
- Service should be completed by 11:30am
All NPS students and families are welcome to attend the community service.
If students are going to be present and want to be part of the Norwood Primary School group, can you please notify the office.
The Launceston RSL encourages those students that have Service Medals or replicas, of their Veteran relatives, to wear them on ANZAC Day. These medals must be worn on the right breast.

The Winter Fest committee are busy planning this year’s event on
Friday 13th June 5:00-9:00pm
We are asking the Norwood Community if anyone could help us out with borrowing:
-
-
-
- Gas Heaters
- Wine Barrels
- Anyone with an RSA that could help us out for an hour or two on the night.
- Any family businesses that could donate a prize for our silent auction or raffle
-
-
It will be an amazing community event and we would really appreciate everyone’s support.
Please get in contact of how you can help by emailing norwoodpsa@gmail.com
