Dropoff/Pickup Zone
The area in front of the school from the Disabled Parking spaces up to the corner is a strictly NO PARKING ZONE and the school driveway is a keep clear area. It is important for the safety of our students that parents use this zone in the correct way. If there isn't room to pull into the pickup zone you must keep driving and come back around. The Launceston City Council will be attending in the afternoons and may issue infringement notices for those not obeying the parking signs.
We also remind families to be respectful of our staff who are monitoring these areas, they are there to keep our staff and students safe.
Date: Monday, 17th March
Time: 9:30am-2:30pm
Venue: Northern Athletics Centre (St Leonards)
The Primary Athletics Carnival will be held on Monday 17th March at the Northern (St Leonards) Athletic Centre (rain day 19th March). This is our first sporting carnival of the year and the first opportunity to display house spirit, determination and resilience in a sporting context. Students are preparing in PE lessons for this carnival.
To ensure a smooth start to the day, students will need to present at school by 8:55am, to allow prompt departure of buses. We are aiming to start the carnival by 9:40am. All students need to ensure they are wearing their sports uniform, hats, have plenty of food, bring a large drink bottle and sunscreen. All students will be under the shade of gazebos when not participating in events. Students are also encouraged to support their house by wearing ribbons, tops, zinc cream etc. of their house colours.
Wattle: Blue Waratah: Red Banksia: Green
Students with asthma are reminded to bring their puffers for the day.
All students are expected to attend and participate in multiple events. Spectators are welcome to attend but will be asked to stay away from students as much as possible and will have a designated viewing area.
Students who are away for any reason may still be selected to represent NPS in the LSSSA Athletics Carnival, based on times/distances recorded at school. This will be held on Wednesday 26th March also at the Northern Athletics Centre (St Leonards).

Play-based learning enhances thinking skills and lifelong learning dispositions such as curiosity, persistence and creativity. (The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia – V2.0, 2022)
3/4B
We are focusing on sentence writing this term, and students have created a piece of work that outlines their "best day ever" or "something that makes them happy". The class worked hard on drafting their piece of work, then edited it with Miss Lakey before publishing a final copy.
