Screen Time ...
Over the past few years there has been an increasing amount of conversation around 'how much' screen time is appropriate for children. This has been, and continues to be a hot topic for experts in the fields of Childhood Brain Development, Psychologist and of course computer programmers and companies.
In recent times, MRIs are being used to study the impact of screen time on childhood development, including academic development and wellbeing. Filtering information for credible research in this area can be difficult.
The following link that was shared earlier this week on our Facebook page is credible research and well worth taking the time to look at.

We are looking forward to seeing all our kinder 2020 families on Thursday, 21st November at 7:00 pm in our School Hall. Come along and find out information regarding your child’s start date for 2020; requirements for kindergarten and other general kindergarten information. Your child’s kinder teacher and teacher assistant will be there as will Mrs Hampton and Mrs Wyllie, parents from our School Association, Mrs Moir and Mrs Birch with information about school uniform and so on. Families will also be asked to sign up for their special appointment with their teacher. This appointment will provide opportunities for the WellComm language screen to occur and for the kinder teacher to find out more about your child before they start school.
A nice sense of belonging existed during our Walkathon yesterday and we also enabled some skipping talents to skip (rather than walk) for the 90 minutes.
Woolworths have been FANTASTIC supporters of this years walkathon. Our students appreciated the fruit break. Thank you Tracie and Woollies!!
Donations are now due to the office, named and secure - zip lock bag works well! To be counted in the class reward challenge, money needs to be in by next Friday, 22nd November.

A current topic generating a lot of interest is the use of mobile phones and other student owned devices in school. We are asking all parents, students, other family members and interested members of the public to complete our survey which can be found on the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mobile_devices_in_schools
Next week will be the final time for student borrowing from the Library this year. All books need to be returned by November 20th. Happy Reading!
