September 25th
What a wonderful time our students have had with the Swimming & Water Safety progam. It's been tiring and busy, but they have push through and achieved a range of results!
2020 Classes...
We are aiming to have classes for 2020 in place well before the end of term 4. I will place an invitation for any parent/carers who wish to make a particular request of placement in our first newsletter of term 4. Please know that only written requests that detail educational reasons for a placement will be considered. Please see our first term 4 newsletter for the process on completing this.
Congratulations.....
I am very pleased to extend our congratulations to Daniel Hilbert, Levi Swift & Jack Miller who have been recognised for a Department of Education Student Award.
The Department of education Student Awards recognise achievement and the values of aspiration & growth.
- Aspiration and Achievement - a culture of high expectations and high achievement
- Growth - improving by always learning and finding better ways to do things.
Eligible students come from years 3, 5, 7 & 9.
Best wishes for a restful, and hopefully sunny, term break.

It has been another busy term in 2-3 G. We loved the visit from the alpacas and would have loved to keep the baby one as a class pet. A highlight of the term was our amazing Mission Space excursion to the Museum during Science Week as part of our term inquiry. We were also lucky enough to have two teachers from Launceston’s sister city, Ikeda, in Japan come to work with us. They showed us how to do origami, taught us about life in Ikeda schools and played lots of Japanese language games with us.

On the 5th of September, Sophie and Charlotte hosted and organized The Great Book Swap, to help raise money for the Indigenous Children’s Literacy Foundation. We did that by selling books for $2.00 or $1.00. The Book Swap was held in the music room. We had many people help us by donating books, carrying books and helping us on the stall.
Thank you to everyone who donated and bought books and to the helpers who helped set up, it was a big success. We raised $155.10! We donated the money to the Indigenous Children’s Literacy Foundation, and all the books we didn’t sell went to the City Mission.
Once again thank you so much to the helpers and people who donate or bought books.

Next term on Thursday October 24th we are having some visitors from Regis for an hour in the afternoon. We would love a couple of parents to come in and support our activities with the residents.
On Thursday October 31st at 9:30am weather permitting we will be walking to draw a house around the corner from school.
On Tuesday December 3rd we are walking to Regis Tasmania for a Christmas visit. We will be leaving at 10am and returning at 11:30am.
Both of our walks are weather dependent. We would love some parents to walk with us. You will need a Working with Vulnerable People card for any of these experiences. Look forward to hearing from some available and interested parents.
Thank you, Lynette House
