From the Principal
Monday marked the beginning of a very busy last two weeks of term 3. Students particpating in the DoE Swimming and Water Safety program have made a wonderful start at the Aquatic Centre. Two weeks of organising gear and getting to and from the pool along with being focussed for high-level particpation, and then being engaged with class learning is a big ask for both students and staff. Well done to all for a great start!

Review of National Funding Arrangements for Kindergartens – survey for parents.....
An independent review (the Review) is being conducted into the national funding arrangements that support access by all children in Australia to 600 hours per year of quality early childhood education in the year before full-time school.
For Tasmania this is our Kindergarten year. Since 2008, the Australian Government’s UANP funding has supported an increase to 15 hours per week of Kindergarten in Tasmania, however the future of national funding is uncertain beyond 2020.
Tasmania has a long and proud history of providing free access to quality early learning and the Tasmanian Government has made substantial investments to support and expand this provision.
It is important that the success of Kindergarten in Tasmania is clearly understood in this national process and we encourage the Tasmanian education community, including parents, teachers, and leaders to participate in the review.
How you have your say:
- Complete the survey – online survey
- Write a public submission which closes at 11.59pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) 6 October 2019. You can email your submission to UANPReview@NousGroup.com.au
I strongly encourage each member of our school community to have your say by particpating in this review. Tasmanian is renowned for our LiL and Kindergarten structures so let's all get on board and ensure that we have the support we need to continue to provide the current high-level early learning expereinces.
