Excursions

2-3 Glen Planetarium Excursion

On Thursday, August 15th, to celebrate National Science Week and as part of our Science Inquiry, 2-3G will be visiting the QVMAG at Inveresk. We will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the first moon walk at the Planetarium, being inspired and amazed at the space-related experiments in the Crazy Scientist Show, being challenged by interactive activities related to space missions, and learning how the moon may hold the key to the dinosaur extinction on Earth as we explore the Dinosaur rEVOLUTION Exhibition.

  • We will leave school by bus at 9:30am and return to school by 2:30pm.
  • Students will need to wear school sports uniform and bring a warm jacket, a recess snack, a cut lunch and a drink.

We would love to hear from any parents with a current Working With Vulnerable People Card who would be willing to accompany us and work with a small group of children.

Kindergarten Hagley Excursion

Kinder House and Kinder Leedham - Tuesday 3rd September

Kinder Williams - Thursday 12th September

On Tuesday 3rd September Kinder H and Kinder L and on Thursday 12th September Kinder W will be travelling to Hagley Farm School for 'hands on' animal experiences connecting us with our environment. The children will need plenty to eat and drink and a warm coat.  Gumboots or a spare pair of shoes and socks will be handy especially if there has been some rain in the few days prior to our excursion.  We will leave at about 9.20am and return by 2:45pm.

Limited spaces for parent help. Please talk to your class teacher.

3 Hill and 4 Horkings Excursion to Hollybank

school_bus_1563493_1920.pngOn Tuesday 10th September our classes will be travelling by bus to Hollybank. We will be learning more about the life cycles of plants. We will be identifying native plants and recognising environmental factors that affect life cycles and seed germination. This is part of our science inquiry unit which is called Plants in Action.

We will be leaving school promptly at 9:15am in the morning and returning back to school by 2:45pm. All children should wear their PE uniform and bring their hat, jumper and a coat as the Hollybank area can be a lot colder than the city.

We respectfully ask that children do not bring umbrellas as they can become a safety issue. Children will also need a packed recess, lunch and large drink.
