From the Principal
What a busy beginning of term we have had with lots of things happening alongside of classroom programs. Aaron Parry from Tasmanian Fire Service will conclude two weeks of fire safety across all grades at the end of this week. Hopefully children have shared some of their fire safety learning at home.
Last Friday, August 4th, we celebrated National Aboriginal Children’s Day. Cecillia and Camilla - Aboriginal Early Years Education Workers - organised a wonderful day of celebration around the theme ‘We play. We learn. We Belong’. Our school community celebrated with a wide-range of activities that shared and acknowledged the rich history of the Traditional Owners of our land. A huge thanks from Norwood Primary to Cecillia and Camilla for making the day possible.

School Uniform
Recently we have seen an increasing number of students wearing a range of non-uniform jumpers. Our school uniform policy outlines the acceptable jumpers for Norwood PS.
With the change of ownership of Targetts School Wear (supplier of our uniform items) the shop will be closed for renovations for 4-6 weeks. If your child requires a new school jumper, we have a range of second hand items available via the school office, alternatively you may wish to purchase a plain navy blue windcheater from a retail store.
Winter hats should be plain navy blue beanies. Hoodies are not to be worn at school.
Book Week celebrations, beginning Monday 19th August…..more information below further on in this newsletter.
