From the Health & Wellbeing Classroom

We are excited to be bringing lots of our learning from our Health and Wellbeing classes to each edition of the newsletter. This might be new learning, weekly routines of even ideas for supporting health and wellbeing with your child at home.

Last Term, Grade 3-4 classes have done lots of learning about what it looks like to be an ‘Upstander’. With many discussions on bullying in our lessons, this is a key strategy that is integral when dealing with conflict and understanding that Bullying is EVERYONE’S problem! Children were tasked with creating a visually eye-catching poster demonstrating these Upstander behaviours. Here are some of our strategies for moving from a bystander to an upstander.

This Term, Grade 5/6 classes have been diving into the world of nutrition and healthy eating! With high school on the horizon, we’re helping students build the knowledge and habits they’ll need as they begin to make more of their own food choices. So far, we’ve explored why we eat, how energy fuels our bodies, and unpacked the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating. Through fun and interactive activities, students are learning the importance of balanced meals and how good food choices support a healthy life. We’re excited to see them carry these lessons into the years ahead.
