Athletic Carnival

Last Monday we hosted our 2024 Grade 3-6 Athletics Carnival at the St Leonards Athletic Centre. Students arrived at the track excited with plenty of house spirit and colour around. A day packed with running, jumping and throwing events showcased some excellent young athletes who received great encouragement from their house peers.

Despite some warm weather the participation from attending students was great, particularly when it came time for the newly made house chants which probably could have been heard at Norwood such was the gusto of the voices.

Waratah house took out the honours on the day, with Wattle pipping Banksia house by a solitary point to take home second. Another almost yearly reminder to students that every event participated in could have big consequences for your house.

A big thankyou to parents and families who were in attendance to both watch and assist in the running of the carnival. Students who excelled individually have spent their day today representing Norwood at the LSSSA Athletics Carnival. A wrap up of this event will be in next week’s newsletter.
