Cross Country
Last Thursday was Cross Country day for all students. The Early Childhood students got the day rolling first with much excitement. Some great running was shown by a number of students. While there wasn’t a focus on 'place' results, many close battles occurred when coming into the finishing line. The high level of parent support was great to see, supporting a positive atmosphere on the day. Special mention goes to our Grade 6 Leaders for their support during the carnival.
The ‘big kids’ had their turn post Lunch, with plenty of excitement and nervousness showing on faces. All students who completed the race are to be congratulated, with many tough races occurring. Participation levels were high after training all term in PE and Daily PE for this one event. From quite early on in the carnival, Wattle took the lead for house bragging rights and despite the gap to Banksia and Waratah closing at different stages, Wattle took out their second carnival of the year on 153 points. Waratah snuck home in 2nd on 131 points in front of Banksia on 127.
Special congratulations to those who finished in the top 5 of their event to book their place on the bus to Waverley next Friday for the LSSSA Cross Country.
