From the Principal

Dear Families
What a wonderful feel it was to be back in time for our annual Cross Country event. Well done to all the students who showed up for this event.  There was a lot of excitement, some nervousness and others that needed to draw on every bit of resilience they had, but what a fantastic feeling it was running through that finish line! Thank you to all our families and friends who came along and supported our students on the day. The cheers of encouragement as students enter and complete this event are so meaningful for our students.

It's that time of year again (so hard to believe that it's almost mid year!) when our teachers are extra busy getting organised for reporting and for family conversations for student learning on top of keep up with classroom teaching & learning.

Mid-year reports will be sent home with your child on Friday 23rd June.

The report will show your child’s learning achievement on a 9-point visual scale for students in Years 1 to 6 (and for Prep students at the end of the year).

The 9-point scale shows where your child’s learning achievement is against the expected standard for their year level.

There will be no teacher comments in the report. This term family/teacher conferences will be offered in Weeks 10 & 11 with the majority taking place throughout week 10.

The Kindergarten team will be holding these during week 9 and 10 as will Mrs Allira Hayes. These are a great opportunity to discuss how your child is progressing with their learning. A link to the online booking system will be emailed to families by the end of next week. Please take up this opportunity to have a conversation with your child's class teacher.

A letter explaining reports, including students who are assessed against a Individual Learning Plan will be enclosed with each student report.

A reminder that Winterfest will take place on Friday June 16th! This is a wonderful event at a time of year when there is not a great deal of community events happening so throw on your outdoor woollies, round up your family and friends and come along to join the festivities.

Unfortunately, I am on leave for the remainder of this week and some of next week due to a family bereavement. Luke Padgett will be acting in my role during this time.

Kind regards

Karen
