From The Acting Principal

We are in week 8 and things at Norwood Primary School are certainly not slowing down! The next 2 and a half weeks are jam packed with fantastic opportunities for all students. Assemblies are running from weeks 7-10 as a celebration of learning. These will run in a similar way to our Term 2 Assemblies with awards given to worthy recipients who consistently display our school values. We will also be awarding Respect badges to one student from each class who shows a high level of Respect in their day to day interactions with others.

Our Years 5-6 excursion experience that is running over 3 days kicked off today with groups heading out to Trevallyn Reserve, Riverbend Park, Hollybank Tree Top Adventures and Launceston Lanes for ten pin bowling. Students have shown enormous amounts of Courage in stepping out of their comfort zones and Respect, in their interactions with each other and the wider community through their participation in this. The values that our staff have been working so hard to embed within our school are being reflected by our students within the wider community.

The student buzz around these experiences has been palpable and as a school we will look to build on these experiences throughout each students’ time at Norwood Primary School.

School Fair

Our School Fair will be held this Saturday the 17th of September. We invite and encourage all members of our school community to come along and support our school at this fabulous event. An enormous level of gratitude to our volunteers and School Association for their organisation of such a large event. If you would still like to volunteer please get in contact with our School Association at norwoodpsa@gmail.com  as we can certainly utilise any available assistance.

Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey

Students in Years 4-6 our have taken part in the annual Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey. The wellbeing of all students at Norwood Primary School is important to us. When young people feel safe, connected and secure, they are more likely to engage in their learning.

This survey forms part of the Department’s Wellbeing for Learning - Child and Student Wellbeing Strategy.  It helps us get a picture of the current wellbeing of our students, and what we can do to improve future wellbeing.

The survey gains information around:

  • social and emotional wellbeing
  • school relationships and engagement and learning in school
  • physical health and wellbeing
  • after school activities

The data from these surveys informs our School Improvement Plan and we are looking forward to working with this data in early Term 4.

School Satisfaction Survey 2022 - Reminder

Every year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys to find out what your child(ren)'s school does well and where it may improve. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school improvement planning and decision-making.

If you have not had the opportunity to complete the survey about Norwood Primary School yet, it is open until Friday 23 September 2022 and should take about 5 minutes of your time.

Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).

Take the online survey by clicking this link or pasting it in your browser: https://ncv.microsoft.com/JgsRXGYSEd

The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.

All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department of Education staff.

Please contact the school if you require any assistance.

Thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
