Inquiry Approach at NPS

Throughout our school, we are focussing on taking an inquiry approach to our teaching and learning. We are posing questions to investigate, fostering curiosity and developing the assets of successful learners.  In every classroom, you will see students wondering, researching, collaborating, thinking and communicating, as we aim to build the skills and dispositions that are required for lifelong learning and success.

The pictures below show the wonder and engagement of students in 1 Roberts as they explored how light reflects from different objects while inquiring into ‘How do we see the world around us?’

‘If there was no light, would people know where they’re going?’ – Lochlan

Minnie investigated what happens when light shines through a glass prism.

“I noticed that when the light went through it, it split into colours like a rainbow.”
