From the Principal
The past few years have left quite a gap with us being able to bring the school community together in the way that we had been familiar with and enjoyed for many years, and I now feel very excited that with the encouraging decline of COVID cases that we are now able to ease some of the restrictions.
This means that we can now gradually start reintroducing activities – such as indoor school assemblies – in a COVID-safe way.
Due to our student numbers and the space within the hall, we will still need to separate K-2 and 3-6 for assemblies but given that we have not been able to have any this year, this is still very exciting!
We are excited to welcome back parents and carers at assemblies, however, given our limited space, unfortunately, for now this will need to be limited to families of children receiving certificates and/or are sharing for the given assembly.
All adults must wear masks, physically distance where practical, and there will be a designated space for parents and carers, separate to students and staff.
Volunteer support in classrooms can now also be re-introduced.... any person requesting this must have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card, show the office staff proof of vaccination and wear a mask. The support will be limited due to the amount of people allowed in the room together which is governed by the size of the space. Teachers will make individual decisions about this based on their learning programs and the needs within each class, so please contact class teachers if you wish to support.
Launching into Learning (LiL) limitations on numbers have also been removed, and we’re excited to welcome more families to our LiL sessions. A reminder that adults will need to wear face masks when indoors. We will, however, continue to provide you with advice about numbers of participants in relation to the size of the space available.
Please know that sometimes circumstances may change quickly. We will let families know of any changes, and we appreciate your flexibility if activities are cancelled or modified at short notice.
It is also important for everyone to be aware that the easing of any restrictions for the public domain doesn't necessarily mean that this applies to schools. Public Health advise DoE in relation to what is deemed as best safety practices for schools.
An important reminder, especially as we move closer to cold and flu season, to please continue to stay at home if unwell.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our school office.
