From the Principal

Wow...what a busy couple of weeks it has been with lots of events happening on top of our everyday learning. It has been amazing to see a high number of students being involved in a range of extra-curricular activities such as Dance Fever, Science Talent competition, F1 In-schools, writing competitions and the annual Schools' Triathlon, apologies if I missed something!

A big thank you goes to Launceston College for their work with primary schools that allows our students to be involved in Dance Fever, and an extra big congratulations and thank you to Chelsea Hibbs for your dedication to supporting the team.  Also to Queechy High, and in particular Mr Murat Djakic, for their support with the F1 Team, and also to the parents involved in getting children to Devonport for the Triathlon.

Please see below for some celebration photo of some of these events.

As the school community is aware, the end of year brings with it many events and changes to the normal school routine so please keep an eye on our school calendar within this newsletter, notes home with students and also our Facebook page to keep updated with this. End of year school assemblies and picnics etc. have been organised to adhere to COVID safety regulations. At this stage all end of year assemblies will be invitation only. Please be aware that changes may occur with the potential opening of our borders on December 15th.

2022

On Friday 10th December students will be visiting their 2022 classes with their assigned teacher. Reports and class placement will also be sent home on this day. Whilst we are not having a lot of movement within our teaching staff, we do have a few moving on to other schools which will mean some new faces for classroom teachers. With a few things to still firm up the full class teacher list will be announced in the newsletter of the final week.

Finally, it is with great pleasure that after lots of discussion and organisation about funds and space that we will be able to offer 25 places for Esk Band for next year. Michella Pinner will also continue to run private piano lessons on Friday each week.
More information in relation to Esk Band will be available at the beginning of 2022. Please be aware that there is a cost to families for students to participate in this program.

Thank you

A very big thank you to the School Association for the delicious morning tea that was provided this morning.
