Grade 6 News
As we enter the final weeks of primary school there are multiple events taking place. This piece provides further information that will assist in supporting you to prepare. Class teachers will be having regular conversations with students around what will be expected and answering any specific clarifying questions.
Year 7 Orientation Day
Date: Wednesday, November 24th
Location: Queechy High School or Kings Meadows High School.
You will have no doubt already received information around Orientation Day from your selected High School. There is an expectation that all students will find appropriate transport to their High School as they will in 2022. Students attending an alternate high school are required at Norwood for this day.
Presentation Assembly
Date: Wednesday, December 8th commencing at 7.00pm. Students to meet their teachers at 6.45pm outside the venue.
Venue: Queechy High School gymnasium
Students are asked to please wear their Year 6 Leavers Tops to this assembly with school appropriate bottoms. Students are asked to not wear tights to this event. This will again be a restricted event with only 2 people per family able to attend. All people in attendance will be asked to sign in using the provided Check in app or sign in sheet. Tickets for this event will be made available as of Monday 22nd November from the school office. We are grateful to Queechy High School for their support with this event.
Celebration Dinner
Date: Tuesday 14th December Commencing at 6.00pm – 8.45pm
Venue: Launceston Golf Club
Students are asked to dress smartly for this occasion. Arriving at the venue is not public, so normal transport is expected. Student will gather at the back of the venue for photo opportunities. For the respect and safety of all, adults are asked to adhere to social distancing requirements. Norwood Primary School has made a contribution in order to limit the impact on families. The cost of the dinner for 2021 will be $30. Payments for this dinner can be made at the school office. If you had any questions around this payment please discuss this with our School Business Manager, Nicole Moir.
As with all school events, behavioural standards are to be maintained prior to and during each event. Students will be representing Norwood Primary School, therefore our high behavioural expectations and values will apply. The school reserves the right to withhold permission to attend event(s).
Thank you all for your support of our young people as they begin to transition into 2022.
