From the Principal
It's hard to believe that we are drawing close to the end of term 3! This means that we are in the process of organisation for 2022. If you are in a position to know if you will be moving from Norwood PS next year could you please inform our office staff as this will help with our organisation of classes. Also, if you have a child (or know of a child) who has turned, or will turn 4, on or before December 31st this year, then they are of age to start their school journey in Kindergarten next year. Please make contact with our office staff as soon as possible to begin this process.
Hats
Yes, it's that time of the year when, finally, the sun is shining more readily.... this means that we need to pull the hats out of storage to bring along to school each day. This week we have asked students to start bringing their hats along and already have many students doing so. If they haven't already please get your children to put their hat in their bag. Hats can be purchased from Midford School Wear or our school office.
NAPLAN Results
This week we will be sending hard copies of grades 3 & 5 NAPLAN results, and an information sheet, home in a sealed envelope with students. We will send relevant families a text message to let you know to check bags for the report on the afternoon this is given to students. An email will also be sent to you with some school-based information about this.
Headlice .... ahhh!
This is an ongoing problem in all schools, and one that is not easily solved, however, there are things that can be done to limit the transfer. One simple way of limiting the transfer from one person to the other is to have hair shoulder length or longer tied back firmly.... plaits are even better! This prevents hair flying around and potentially coming into contact with other hair. Having hair tied back is also part of our uniform policy that has been endorsed by our School Association. Children with hair out will now be asked to tie it back with a new hair band provided by the school.
