Book Week Dress-up Day and Parade
Students are invited to bring along their favourite book and dress either in character or in a costume to match the theme of ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’.
The parade will take place on the bottom oval. It will involve the students forming two large, concentric circles and moving around in a circular fashion to view each other’s costumes and talk about favourite books. After this part of the parade, teachers will lead their students past the parent-zone and back to class.
Due to COVID restrictions, we have a limit of one adult per family able to view the parade.
Adults are asked to stand in the designated viewing area on the main oval, alongside the childcare centre fence.
Entry for visitors will be through the Norwood Avenue walkway (between the kinder buildings and Lady Gowrie). There will be laminated signs displayed for check in using the ‘Check in Tas.’ app.
To maintain a flow of foot traffic, the exit will be via the gates at the back of the Lady Gowrie carpark.
For those unable to attend, the event will be filmed, photographed and shared on our Facebook page.
In the event of poor weather, a text message will be sent to all families to advise of cancellation. In this case, we will run a modified parade in the school hall which, due to COVID restrictions, won’t be accessible to parents.
