Basketball Tournaments

A fun weekend with points scored, fouls made, big wins, big losses and smiles all around. All teams played with passion and great sportsmanship.

Some highlights:

Grade 5/6 Div 2 girls taking on Mrs Richards’ (foreign) team successfully

Grade 5/6 Div 2 boys making the cross overs in first place.

Grade 5/6 Div 3 boys coming second in their pool

Grade 5/6 Div 3 girls all becoming confident basketballers during the tournament.

Grade 3/4 Div 1 boys making the grand final and qualifying for the state championships.

Our 3/4 Div 3 boys coming out with 2 wins in their cross over games with multiple goal scorers.

Our 3/4 Div 2 girls win in the first game and great improvements in skills over the tournament.

We wish our Grade 3/4 boys all the best for the State tournament, held in Launceston on the weekend of the 5th and 6th December.

There are many volunteers that make this tournament happen for our children.

A very big thank you to:

Our Coaches – Phil Payne, David Milne, Andrew McPhan and Caleb Nason, Rick Wyllie, Corinne Leale and James Russell.

Parents – for taking on bench duties and running children around, and supporting their responses to wins and losses

Students – for their conduct over the weekend which made Norwood Primary proud.

Gary Jones and Corinne Leale
