Grade 6 News
Grade 6 Presentation Evening
To be held at Queechy High School commencing at 7:00 pm on Wednesday December 2nd. Students will need to meet with their teachers at 6:45pm, prior to entering the Queechy gym. This event is a restricted event with only 2 people per family allowed to attend, this is not about seats this is about the number of people and includes babies and younger siblings.
All people attending the presentation evening will need to complete a COVID Visitor Health Screen prior to entering the gym, if you have more than one person attending you only need to complete one form but list both names on the form. We do not require families to fill in the RWVP section of the form. To ensure the process runs smoothly we ask that you fill your form in before you arrive and hand to the staff member at the door. Forms are available at the front office. We are grateful to QHS for their support of this event.
Grade 6 Celebration Dinner
Date: Tuesday 15th December at 6:00pm for 6:30pm start. Concluding at 8:45pm.
Venue: Launceston Golf Club. Limited staff in attendance for 2020.
Students are asked to dress smartly for this occasion, and at school, conversations are around neat and tidy, celebration and certainly not about new and expensive.
Arriving at the venue is not public, so normal transport is expected. Students will gather at the back of the venue for photo opportunities, and for the respect and safety of all, adults are asked to please adhere to the social distancing expectation of 1.5M. Thank you for your support here which will avoid embarrassment for many.
The School and the School Association have made a donation towards the cost of the dinner with the cost to families at $25. Payments can be made either in person at the school office or over the phone via card, EFTPOS/Card is the preferred method of payment. Payments need to be made no later than Friday 11th December. If you need a payment plan, the school is able to discuss this – please ask to speak to Nicole.
High School Orientation Day
Wednesday November 25th will see students heading to a government high school, for grade 7 in 2021, attending their respective high schools. It is expected that they go directly to the high school, and that they will spend a FULL day there, working in the initial class groupings that have been created for 2021.
Kings Meadows students received a note regarding this on 15/11, and the QHS letter was shared yesterday.
